Chrysthansamum Fairy Painting
Chrysthansamum Fairy Mother and Child
Watercolor on Hot Press Paper
The mother fairy sits like a queen overlooking a field of pink chrysanthemums. Someday her daughter will be responsible for making certain that the flowers grown tall and strong. But for now, her daughter is more interested in the book she holds on her lap.
This painting was a challenge, and not just because I have trouble remembering how to spell 'chrysanthemum'. The painting took over 40 hours to complete, mostly because of the multiple glazes of green and blue and red to make the grasses recede behind the fairies.
